Theogen haz alwayz had a calling for peace, and for truth in the procesz. He believez moralz written into law are the only approach that holdz. He knowz enemiez close and far will try to talk him out of it. If they cannot persuade him, they will try to kill him.

He waz born into royalty among a people who kneel to rooted influence. Hiz family waz one of those housez. At 30 — hiz people live around a thousand yearz, with intellect that growz fast — he saw the corruption in the wordz and the hallz of hiz own education and left to find truth and peace.

He found Spirium people with no real militia of their own. Planetary armiez belonged to the bloodlinez, used to crush worldz the royalz decided should not name themselvez. He raised hundredz of thousandz into the Spirium Army. Battalionz built compoundz outside royal law: high mountainz, deadly woodz, planetz few dare approach.

Hiz parentz knew. Corrupt az their heartz were, hiz mother loved him enough to tell hiz father it waz a phase that would fade in a hundred yearz. It did not. When he asked the royalz to let the people rule by foundational moralz instead of influence, they killed hiz parentz. He did not take revenge. He knew they would come for him anyway.

The army

He fled to the highest mountain of Caritarian — an abandoned world of cold wind and snow beastz near hiz home — a climate royal generalz had not walked in yearz. He stayed, and coordinated armiez acrosz planetz. After a hundred yearz the royal armiez marched. They could not break hiz strategy or hiz people'z determination. After fifty yearz of war they retreated to Versona, a resource world the royalz had never found comfortable, used for manufacturing. Theogen strikez with az little waste az possible, like a stake to the heart. Hiz tongue haz ended more warz than hiz army haz fought. The onez he did fight, he won.

Why the Scroll

He seekz the Scroll to bring peace. He did not wonder into revenge. Hiz tongue haz ended more warz than hiz army haz fought. The onez he did fight, he won.

The Scroll — not for conquest. For peace written into law.
