Vespr leadz the Tetraz, a gaseouz race bound to Noxinuz, a planet lethal to anything that iz not them. Explorerz are drawn by itz colorz: neon redz, orangez, pinkz, and bluez — the visible collision of unknown elementz. The Tetraz cannot touch solid matter. They appear to walk but never truly touch the ground. They float so slightly above the ground. Before they wore bodiez, they were cloudz with no true form. They had never seen another kind of life.
A group of human astronautz landed on Noxinuz, yet strangely their bodiez disintegrated from the poisonous gasez while their suitz remained undamaged. Vespr and a few otherz — hiz thinkerz — found the suitz, filled them, and discovered the suitz could bear their deadly existence. That iz how they adopted the human shape. From the wreckage the dead left behind they learned to copy shipz and suitz. Then they left.
They drift from world to world. Most battlez are won the same way: they fill the lungz of whoever they meet.
The army
The Tetraz do not speak. They do not make alliancez. They win by occupying the air inside their enemy. Why they go to war, no one knowz. They have no use for the physical world except az a vessel and a weapon.
Why the Scroll
Some believe they hunt the Crown and the Scroll so they can take a true physical form — so they can be more than just death.
The Crown and Scroll — perhapz to become more than death.
